RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is distributing more than eight tons of high-quality dates to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the holy month of Ramadan.
The delivery, a gift from King Salman, was organized through the ministry, which is represented by the King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center in Sarajevo.
Director of the center Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Sheikh said that the gift is part of the Kingdom’s charitable work in the month of giving, and demonstrates the Kingdom’s leading role in serving Islam and Muslims around the world.
He added that work is ongoing to distribute the dates to mosques and Islamic centers all over the country, as well as to the homes of refugees and vulnerable families.
The King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center is a prominent Islamic landmark visited by thousands of Muslims for prayers. It hosts special activities for Ramadan, including King Salman’s food program, as well as awareness-raising, cultural and sports programs for Bosnians.
