AlUla The beautiful landscape of AlUla offers a rich plethora of cultural, historical and adventurous experiences with its mesmerizing rock carvings and mountain tombs in northwest Saudi Arabia.
Recently the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) announced the approval by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for the Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdul Aziz Airport in AlUla to receive international flights.
The airport’s annual capacity has increased from 100,000 to 400,000 passengers and its area has increased to 2.4 million square meters. The airport is the fifth largest airport in the Kingdom and can accommodate 15 commercial aircraft at any one time.
The development of AlUla airport is a key element of RCU’s strategy to elevate AlUla to become a global destination for heritage, culture, history, and natural tourism, and to enhance its strategic role as an important logistical center.
The strategy aims to attract 2 million visitors every year to AlUla and contribute to raising the Kingdom’s gross domestic product by SR120 million ($32 million) by 2035.
