JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), together with Burkina Faso and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, held a virtual meeting to follow up on plans to promote family banks in the G5 Sahel countries. The secretary-general of the OIC, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, supports establishing family banks to empower families economically and improve living standards.
Public and private sector representatives from the five countries presented a summary of steps taken since the workshop and submitted proposals for the next moves to establish family banks.
